I cross the campus regularly and have noticed a lot of good birds. It is a unique habitat for the Marietta area because Duck Creek meanders across the campus. While typical woodland birds can be seen all over campus, the strip of riparian forest bordering the creek contains warblers during the spring and summer which are the prime seasons for birding here. A family of Red-shouldered Hawks is nesting on campus near the playing fields.
Parking is widely available on streets surrounding campus; no permit is required and there are no fees.
Marietta College enrolls 1,200 full-time students. The College’s picturesque 90-acre campus is in Marietta, Ohio, just two blocks from downtown. The campus includes a state-of-the-art recreation center, planetarium, and library.
