About Newton Falls Schools Woodlot and Marsh
This is actually quite a success story! The school board wanted to log these 40+ acres for profit until town residents fought against the idea. It even went to court. In the end, the trees were saved. Now the idea is to create a network of gravel trails for the Track and Field team and the general public. So far the trails have been made, but the gravel has not been put down yet. It’s a work in progress. In other words, there are no ‘official’ trails yet. Hopefully, in 2021 the trail systems will be completed. The south end includes a really nice wetland. As for entry, park at the Middle School and enter from the north. The trail enters the wood just east of the Middle School parking area.
