About Marsha Gunder Schneider Preserve
Please, note that the preserve is closed during the fall deer hunting season.
This property encompasses 285 acres along the Scioto River in south-central Pickaway County. The habitat is meadow and young forest with a few grandfather trees. It is bordered by the Scioto River on the west and south and farmland on the north and east. There are mown grass trails through the area. The southern part of Davenport Pond, which is an old oxbow of the Scioto River, is on the northeast end of the preserve. It is spring-fed and feeds a small stream and wetland area that has running water year-round and courses the length of the property from north to south near the east boundary, emptying into the Scioto River at the south end.
