Tips for Birding

Westwood Memorial Park is divided into 2 sections. The western half is open fields with ball diamonds and a soccer field where Killdeer often congregate. The eastern half is mature trees- mainly oaks, providing shade for a shelter house, playground, tennis, and basketball courts. The park attracts birds such as Baltimore Orioles in the breeding season and passing migrants during spring and autumn.
