Tips for Birding

Delaware Creek Park is a small Toledo city park that runs for half a mile along Delaware Creek. A Lucas County map with the park marked is available from the county engineer’s office. The small parking area is at the foot of Rohr Boulevard (also called Delaware Creek Park Road) on the south side just before River Road. Harvard School is on the north side of Rohr. Up the hill from the park, you can cross River Road and stand on the bridge to see further out into the Maumee River.

No restroom facilities.

Birds of Interest

Ducks and geese on the Maumee visible from the bridge (winter), Wood Duck (spring/summer), Bald Eagles, Cooper's and Red-shouldered Hawk, Great Blue Heron, Belted Kingfisher, Song, White-throated/American Tree/Fox Sparrows (winter/early spring), woodpeckers, Eastern Phoebe, Carolina Wren, thrushes (spring migration), excellent for warblers during spring migration.

Notable Trails

No trails, just a single road and wooded space running along the river.
