About Apple Valley Lake
Apple Valley is a planned unit development that began in 1972 by American Central Corporation (Michigan). With only a small number of lots remaining, American Central turned over the lots and control of the common properties in 1979 to what now is the Apple Valley Property Owner’s Association.
Apple Valley covers approximately 3,770 acres covering areas both in Howard and Brown Townships.
The lake is an engineered lake formed by the Little Jelloway Creek, various active springs, and drainage from the surrounding areas. The lake reached full pool in the spring of 1972.
The lake is 3.25 miles long and covers 9.25 miles of shoreline. It is 511 acres, has an average depth of 30 feet, and a maximum depth of 70 feet.
