Ramey Swamp is part of a series of wetlands formed as a consequence of building the railroad bed. Access is from the railroad bed which is abandoned.
Ramey Swamp is one of the buttonbush swamps in the Lawrence, Gallia, Vinton area that deserve more attention from birders. In winter, these sites can harbor a surprising density and diversity of songbirds.
