About Fairborn Community Park
Fairborn’s Community Park offers something for everyone – soccer and softball fields, seven picnic shelters, a 500 seat amphitheater, disc golf course, volleyball, basketball and tennis courts and a two-mile paved walking and fitness trail surrounded by natural areas. A permanent conservation easement protects the wetland areas forever.
The wooded upper park serves as a land lab for Fairborn High School. BW Greenway, through a Clean Ohio Grant, added the northern wooded section to the park referred to as the Community Park Reserve.
Trail length: 2 miles of paved trail plus additional earthen and mulched trails
Trail difficulty: Easy, all trails are essentially flat
What to see: Natural areas include two restored prairies of native grasses, over 40 acres of forest, several wetland areas and vernal pools, a five-acre pond, the Beaver Creek, wildflower trail, wet woods, dry woods, and restored wetlands. Access across the creek by a bridge.
