Tips for birding Westgate Park
Westgate Park is a nice little city park with many large oak trees that attract birds year-round. A scope may be useful if you catch a perching raptor in one of these big oaks, but otherwise it’s probably not worth lugging along.

Westgate Park is a landmark to the historic Westgate community and home to the popular summertime event, the Hilltop Bean Dinner. The park established in 1925 and in 2009 a Mural was painted and dedicated on the handball court wall to depict Camp Chase history for the West side. Westgate Park is committed to keeping the Columbus community fit and healthy with a walking trail. Also in the park, is a “Rain Garden,” which is the first of its kind in a city park on the West side.
