The Shelby Street Boat Ramp is a good place to view the rookeries on Turning Point Island.

The Shelby Street Public Boat Launch is located at the corner of Water and Shelby streets in Sandusky.

The site provides a four-lane boat launch, a seasonally-operated concession store, fishing access, picnic shelter and a handicapped-accessible observation deck that overlooks Sandusky Bay. The main parking lot has over 100 vehicle/trailer spaces, while an additional 58 spaces are available to the south along Shelby Street.

The Sandusky Bay Pathway passes through the Shelby Street Public Boat Launch site. It connects to Putnam and Mills streets to the west and multiple points along Water Street and Shoreline Drive to the east.
