Heritage Wetlands

About this Location

Please note that this hotspot, north of County Line Road, is in Delaware County. The area south of County Line Road is in Franklin County.

The wetlands are hard to find. It is on city property but is not a normal park. I will explain two methods to enter the wetlands.

The first is to park your vehicle at Towers Park (corner of County Line Road and North Spring Road) and walk west on County Line Road for about 0.25 mile. Walk until you see a wood fence on the left (south) side of the road. College Knoll pond will be across the street. Enter around the fence and just follow the grass path. This path goes around the wetland.

The second is to drive down Juniper Avenue (off County Line Road) for about 0.25 mile. On your left, you will see a pull-off for the wetlands. Park and enter wetlands.

This is a shallow marsh that is loaded with vegetation such as algae and pond lilies. I did not see much as far as amphibians but I did see flying insects such as bees and dragonflies. This is a beautiful area.
