About this Location

Whitesburg Park provides a unique opportunity to explore not only the natural beauty of the Chagrin River and the surrounding mature hardwood and evergreen forest but also some of Chagrin Fall’s unique history. Primitive trails and boardwalks loop through the forested upland slopes and along the river’s western bank. Along the way, visitors can see the remnants of the old Chase Bag Co. Paper Mill that was located downstream from the park including the old mill pond and a large 100-year-old metal pipe that was used to supply water to the steam-powered mill. This park is the result of combining three different parks in 2010.

Whitesburg Park is owned and operated by the village of Chagrin Falls. It is a small park, but with a wide variety of habitats for bird watching and watching the seasons pass in such a small place: a swiftly-flowing part of the Chagrin River, a slowly-flowing part with beavers in it, a forest, a field, vernal pools in the spring and a swamp. Great for taking photos, enjoying the weather, and walking dogs.
