The 251-acre Scenic Vista Park, managed as a Public Hunting Area, lies three miles southwest of Lisbon in central Columbiana County. Access is provided from Wayne Bridge Road which runs along the east side of the park.
The area is on the southern fringe of the glacial boundary. Slopes vary from gently rolling near the highest portion of the park becoming progressively steeper and more rugged as you move toward the water courses. The park contains 210 acres of forest including second growth hardwoods of black locust, black cherry, and red maple as well as mature oaks, black walnut, and sugar maple. Index of Ohio’s trees from the Division of Forestry. The remaining 40 acres are in grassland meadow.
Scenic Vista Park was acquired in 1977 as the first major acquisition of the Columbiana County Park District. Wildlife habitat management has included the planting of conifers, reforestation of fields, and planting of warm season grasses. Recreation uses include picnicking, hiking, and other outdoor pursuits. An archery range is open for public use.
Whitetail deer, turkey, and squirrels are the principal game species. Furbearers that are common to the region are also found here.
