About Ottawa Metro Park and Lima Reservoir
Ottawa Metro Park provides many different outdoor recreation opportunities for your enjoyment on 287.3 acres. Visitors can spend the day fishing and boating on the 89-acre Lima Lake reservoir and swimming at Ottawa Metro Park beach. Enjoy a picnic or stay overnight at the campground.Lima Lake was built in 1903 by the city of Lima for use as a municipal water supply. In 1991, control of the lake was handed over to the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District. The Ottawa Metro Park opened in 1997. Today Lima Lake is managed solely for recreation.
